Oleksandr Zinchenko (Ukrainian: Олександр Зінченко; born 15 December 1996) is a Ukrainian professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Premier League team Burton Albion and the Ukrainian national team. Zinchenko began his career with Russian team before having a brief spell with Manchester City, he also had loan spells with PSV and Jong PSV before joining Burton Albion.
Zinchenko is a product of Youth Sporitve School Karpatiya of his native Radomyshl, FC Monolit Illichivsk and FC Shakhtar Donetsk.
He made his Russian Football Premier League debut for FC Ufa on 20 March 2015 in a game against FC Krasnodar.
On 4 July 2016, Zinchenko was signed by Manchester City for an estimated £1.7 million.
Loan to PSVEdit
Zinchenko was loaned to Dutch Eredivisie team PSV Eindhoven on 26 August, for the 2016–17 season. He made his debut on 1 October, as a substitute in a 1–1 draw against SC Heerenveen.
Zinchenko left Manchester City for fellow Premier League team Burton Albion for a club record £8 million on July 27, 2017. Zinchenko made his debut for Albion in the Community Shield against Chelsea, Zinchenko scored a 95th minute equaliser in a 2–1 victory. Zinchenko made his Premier League debut in a 2–2 with Tottenham, he assisted Albion's second goal. Zinchenko's first Premier League goal came in the following match to put Albion 4–0 up in a 6–1 victory over Huddersfield Town. He would then net in their next game a victory over West Ham, he then netted a brace in a comfortable 4–1 win over Swansea City in the next game. He made his Champions League debut against Sevilla where he scored and gained an assist.
He made his international debut in a UEFA Euro 2016 qualification game against Spain on 12 October 2015. Zinchenko scored his first international goal in a friendly against neighbours Romania in Turin, which Ukraine won 4–3 on 29 May 2016. He also became Ukraine's youngest player to score an international goal at the age of 19, beating a record previously held by Andriy Shevchenko.
Zinchenko was included in Ukraine's squad for Euro 2016, appearing as a substitute for Viktor Kovalenko in both of Ukraine's first two matches, against Germany and Northern Ireland as Ukraine failed to score and were the first team eliminated.
